Introduction

This Web page contains information, which is needed by deaf persons, who consider visiting Israel.

Since Israel's population has a large percentage of immigrants, it is sometimes possible to find Sign Language interpreters and/or notetakers, who are proficient in your native language (spoken or Sign Language).

Since such interpreters can enhance your experience of Israel, it is sometimes good idea to employ their services while visiting Israel.

Deaf Clubs

The Deaf Club most frequented by deaf tourists to Israel is the Deaf Club operating in Helen Keller Center, Tel Aviv. This club is normally open on Tuesday evenings and sometimes also in other evenings.

If you plan to visit Israel during the month of August, it is advised that you inquire ahead of time, because on the entire month of August each year, the Association of the Deaf in Israel closes down for its yearly vacation. The Deaf Club in Helen Keller Center is, however, sometimes open on Tuesday evenings.
